Jason Aldean: CMA Awards, My Kinda Party Tour, New Studio Album

Jason Aldean: CMA Awards, My Kinda Party Tour, New Studio Album

The final three months of 2011 will be big for country music star Jason Aldean.

Aldean has been nominated for five CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year (“Don’t You Wanna Stay (with Kelly Clarkson)”), Album of the Year (My Kinda Party), and Musical Event of the Year (whatever that is).

Aldean fans will learn if their man gets to go home with some hardware on Nov. 9. That’s when the CMA Awards will be broadcasted live on ABC.

If you’re fortunate enough to reside in a few lucky U.S. cities, you’ll be able to see Aldean long before that November awards show.

Between Oct. 21 and Oct. 28, the 34-year-old singer has five Jason Alden concerts scheduled.

Here’s his route: Jason Aldean in Denver at the Pepsi Center on Oct. 21, Jason Aldean in Salt Lake City at the Maverick Center on Oct. 22, Jason Aldean in Reno at the Reno Events Center on Oct. 23, Jason Aldean in Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Oct,. 27, and Jason Aldean in Chula Vista at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre on Oct. 28.

The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer is still supporting his 2010 smash hit album, My Kind of Party.

While not scheduled to go down in 2011, Aldean recently sold out the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. It took fans just a few minutes to gobble up more than 15,000 Jason Aldean tickets.

As I alluded to earlier, his Nashville concert isn’t planned for 2011. The Music City gig is set to take place on Feb. 24, 2012—just four days before the singer’s 35th birthday.

If you have the opportunity to see Jason Aldean perform you definitely should. His shows are loud, straight-forward, and a whole lot of fun. Even if you’re not a huge Aldean fan, I recommend that you attend one of his concerts. He’s the type of artist that will win you over with his indelible live show.

Sometime between launching a Jason Aldean tour and collecting CMA Awards (hopefully), the country music superstar will head back into the studio to work on his fifth album.

In an interview with Billboard.com, Aldean said he has a “pile” of 20 to 25 songs. He can’t say exactly what his next album will sound like until he gets into the studio and whittles the number of songs down, but he’s still very excited. In fact, he thinks it’s going to be a “great record.”

Some of those two dozen songs were written by Aldean but many were penned by others. The Georgian says he’ll always be an artist who records other people’s music. Besides, for the first time in Aldean’s career composers are actually writing songs with him in mind.

In early September, Aldean released the singe “Tattoos on This Town.” It was the fourth single from My Kind of Party (the second and third releases went to number one while the other peaked at number two). “Tattoos” debuted at number 59 on the country music singles chart before moving up and cracking the top 20.
