‘Jingle Ball’ Gets Fans In Holiday Spirit In New York, Tampa, L.A.

The concert is called Jingle Ball.

See what they did there?

The word “jingle” is associated with Christmas and the concert is scheduled to take place in December—the month containing Christmas. And the word “ball” also means a formal event with dancing.

It’s genius! I bet some program director paid a lot of money for a team of consultants to come up with that one and even more money to have someone explain it to him.

Jingle Ball is an annual concert series founded by radio station KIIS FM in Los Angeles.

Over the years, the tradition has grown so popular that there are now Jingle Balls (wow, it took me all of six paragraphs to make that joke).

There’s a Jingle Ball produced by Z100 in New York City and a Jingle Ball in Tampa, Florida produced by 93.3 FLZ (you pronounce the numbers, the “point,” and each letter for a nifty little rhyme).

All three aforementioned radio stations are owned by Clear Channel which may or may not have fired a certain ruggedly handsome blogger we all know and love.

Now, these Jingle Ball concerts aren’t some hastily thrown together affair where fans can show up to get some cheap swag, cold leftovers from Appleby’s, and hear “Naked Boy & Da Raccoon” from the Morning Waking Crew play the daily “Fart Song.”

No, Jingle Ball 2010 is a legitimate, fully-fledged concert experience with some of the biggest names in music.

The KIIS FM Jingle Ball in Los Angeles features Katy Perry, Nelly, Enrique Iglesias, and B.o.B. The show is set for Dec. 5 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

(Please note that many of the Jingle Ball performers appear at multiple shows. For a complete rundown of who’s playing what Jingle Ball concert please see below. )

Jingle Ball tickets for the KIIS FM L.A. show go on sale Nov. 6.

Tampa’s 93.3 FLZ Jingle Ball is going down Dec. 12 at the St. Pete Times Forum. The concert will feature Maroon 5, Train, and The Ready Set.

Concert tickets for that show are already on sale.

Z100’s Jingle Ball in New York City features a certain young Canadian pop star by the name of Justin Bieber. Maybe you’ve heard of him?

The Biebster will be joined by Selena Gomez, Bruno Mars, and Michael Bublé.

Which one of those artists doesn’t belong? What in the beck is Bublé doing in that lineup? Is he their chaperon? Is he the only one old enough to rent the equipment?

Also in attendance are special guests hosts Kim Kardashian, Jay Sean, Flo Rida, and Jesse McCartney. Obviously, when they’re not onstage introducing the next musical performance they’ll be backstage splitting the atom.

Z100’s Jingle Ball 2010 is happening Dec. 10, 2010 at Madison Square Garden.

Unfortunately for fans, Z100’s Jingle Ball 2010 tickets are all sold out. However, you can still get tickets. This may surprise you but the radio station is giving away Jingle Ball tickets. I know—I’m as shocked as you are.

Just listen to you Z100—or for that matter KIIS FM and 93.3 FLZ—for your chance to win. Just be the umpteenth caller or have the phrase that pays or whatever it is they want. And I’m sure their wacky morning zoo crews will have some outrageous way for you to humiliate and degrade yourself for Jingle Ball tickets as well.

Merry Christmas!
