Parks and Recreation’s Tom Haverford Delivers One Of Television’s Greatest Lines

The Dec. 3 episode of Parks and Recreation featured one of television’s greatest lines.

The line was uttered by the P&R character Tom Haverford portrayed by the indelible Aziz Ansari.

The story centered about Tom divorcing his “green card” wife Wendy. Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) won’t leave Tom alone unless he grieves. So taking the advice of Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), Tom pretends to be sad for the benefit of Leslie.

The scene took place in the dinosaur-themed restaurant, Jurassic Fork.

The episode was written by Harris Wittels and was directed by Troy Miller.

More than 4.80 million households, an increase from the series’ prior episode, “Hunting Trip,” watched this edition of Parks and Recreation.

This line is part of a great tradition of classic Television utterances. We refer TV fans to Michael Scott’s classic one-liner.
