Glee Songs From 10-21-09, Episode 8 (VIDEO)

The Glee songs from 10-21-09, Episode 8 were devilishly eclectic. What other show could fit Young MC’s “Bust A Move” and “I Could Have Danced All Night” from the musical My Fair Lady in the same episode?

It was a Will Schuester episode as he sang “Bust A Move” and “Thong Song.” He also danced with Emma Pillsbury as she sang “I could Have Dance All Night.”

Rachael gave us a very short taste of “What A Girl Wants” and Puck took the lead in a rousing rendition of Neil Diamond’s classic “Sweet Caroline.”

Once again, Glee proved why it’s one of the best shows on television. The musical performances were top notch. The dialogue is uproarious and clever. And the show has compelling and believable dramatic moments.

Oddly enough, the title of the episode was Mash-Up but there was nary a mash-up to be found (that’s so Glee).

The only thing that rankled Land of Punt, besides not enough Heather Elizabeth Morris, was the way Puck treated Rachael on the bleachers near the end of the episode. We didn’t appreciate his attitude.

Finally, Sue Sylvester can really pull off a zoot suit.

Glee doesn’t return until Nov. 11 because FOX is broadcasting the World Series.

Glee received Golden Globe nominations for Best Comedy/Musical, for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy/Musical (Matthew Morrison) and Best Lead Actress in a Comedy/Musical (Lea Michele).

The 67th Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will be broadcasted on NBC on Jan. 17.

In other Glee news, Cory Monteith (Finn) used his twitter account to promote a YouTube video of Manny Garcia, a burgeoning San Francisco-based singer. Garcia did a mash-up of “True Colors” and “Defying Gravity.” Monetith sent a tweet to his 75,000 followers with the word “props” attached to the video’s link. At press time, Garcia’s YouTube video had nearly 25,000 views and scores of positive comments.
